We're kicking off a new year of Breakfast Briefings with Elizabeth Trotman, CEO at StudioCanal Australia & New Zealand, in conversation with Screen Producers Australia CEOMatthew Deaner as they discuss the year ahead.

With over twenty five year's experience in the global entertainment industry, Trotman has worked for The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros.BBC Worldwide and Hoyts Distribution on countless projects including The Lion KingToy StoryThe ExorcistThe Matrix and Slumdog Millionaire.

Deaner and Trotman will discuss StudioCanal's current projects, how they work with producers, and the progress of its local 300K script development fund which was established to 
nurture Australian content in Film and TV and to support female representation in the industry.

The Screen Producers Australia’s Breakfast Briefing series provides an informal forum for the screen industry to meet, network, stay connected and be inspired.

SPEAKERS

Elizabeth Trotman has over twenty five years experience in the global entertainment industry.  

After completing her BCOM/BA, she started her career working for The Walt Disney Company in New Zealand which lead to a promotion to Hong Kong working across Asia Pacific.

During her tenure with Disney she worked on THE LION KING, TOY STORY and the global re-branding for WINNIE THE POOH.   

This led to a position working for Warner Bros in London where she worked with industry giants such as William Friedkin on the re-release of THE EXORCIST and Will Smith on WILD WILD WEST.   

She moved to Australia to take up a role for BBC Worldwide overseeing the launch of Teletubbies across Asia, including China.    

In 2002 she returned to New Zealand to oversee the marketing of both the Hoyts cinema chain along with Hoyts Distribution theatrical films. 

She has distributed more than 350 films across Asia / UK / AU / NZ covering all genres and scale, including EYES WIDE SHUT, THE MATRIX, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, THE QUEEN and PADDINGTON.   

Elizabeth is a respected active participant across multiple industry bodies.

Matthew Deaner is our Chief Executive Officer. Matthew sits across all aspects of Screen Producers Australia's advocacy work, industrial negotiations, events and operational issues. He also works closely with our Council to set the strategic direction of the organisation as well as identify and execute new business development opportunities.
