SPEAKERS

Stuart Hannagan began his career in 1982 as a staff photographer for News Ltd and worked at various papers in Adelaide and Melbourne. In 1985 Hannagan won the prestigious World Sports Photo of the Year. From 1989-1993 Hannagan worked for the Melbourne AGE as chief sports photographer, later taking on the role of Picture Editor from 1993-1998.

In 1999 he joined Getty Images as Director of Photography for the Asia Pacific region, and in 2007 became Vice President of Editorial Imagery for Asia. Hannagan specializes in sports photography and has covered many sporting events including seven Olympic Games, Wimbledon, the World Athletics, Rugby World Cup and the Cricket World Cup in Australia. Aside from sports photography, Hannagan has also covered local, political, and international news including Pope’s tours, Australian federal elections and the Australian bushfires.

Hannagan has received top recognition for his work, winning AFL photographer of the year title 5 times; World Press Photo of the Year in 1985; Australian PGA’s Golf Picture of the year; Kodak sports Photo of the year twice; and the Adidas sports photo of the year in 1990.

Matthew Deaner is our Executive Director. Matthew sits across all aspects of Screen Producers Australia's advocacy work, industrial negotiations, events and operational issues. He also works closely with our Council to set the strategic direction of the organisation as well as identify and execute new business development opportunities.
