Screen Producers Australia in association with Screen Tasmania is pleased to announce a special weekend workshop on Business Essentials.
Newly designed, the workshop targets producers and screen content professionals who need to be across the essentials of running a business. The course will bring together topic specialists from across the industry to cover key issues in setting up, maintaining and growing an independent production business. Topics range from strategic planning, budgeting, negotiation, IP management, compliance, risk, insurances, tax and GST. This workshop is particularly valuable for content creators looking to start their own business or who have a growing business and are in need of a good governance refresher.
What are the issues to be discussed?
All too often content creators spend too much time on project lists and not enough on establishing a viable business capable not only of supporting sales but growth. Business can be built on the basis of a successful sale but to grow requires management of a range of Business Essentials.

Content storage, archiving and digital management
Part 2: Commercial Negotiation
Incentives and support
Creating and protecting the value of IP
Buying, selling and licensing copyright
Distributors and broadcasters
Writers, cast and crew
Who Should Attend?
