Australian Success Continues at 89th Academy Awards

Australia was again well represented at the Academy Awards this year, with three Australian films: Lion, Hacksaw Ridge and Tanna.

“Following on from a record-breaking 2016 awards season, Australian film production goes from strength to strength. This is a great achievement for our industry. Congratulations to all nominees and winners.”

“This outcome demonstrates the local production industry is world-class, with creative talent that competes on the global stage. But we can do better, domestic incentives and policies need reform so we can access international markets and win more awards.” Screen Producers Australia CEO, Matthew Deaner said.
